Ayako Takemi is a visiting researcher at the Center for Global Development, working on global health governance and its legal aspects. She completed her PhD in Law at the University of Tokyo. Her dissertation focuses on the inter-organizational relationship between the health and security sectors, as well as an assessment on the International Health Regulations and emergency response.
During the course of her PhD, Takemi has served as a visiting researcher at Yale University, and as a legal intern at the World Health Organization and the Hague Conference on Private International Law. She has also previously worked as an adjunct lecturer at Aoyama-Gakuin University and a program specialist at the Health and Global Policy Institute.
Takemi earned her LLB and LLM at the University of Tokyo. She will begin her MPH at Harvard in 2018.
