Sakhi Shah is interning at CGD from the Breakthrough Institute where she is a 2018 generation fellow. She is researching energy access, economic growth, and infrastructure in developing regions for the Energy for Growth Hub. She recently received a dual MS from Carnegie Mellon University in Civil and Environmental Engineering focused on energy, and in Engineering and Technology Innovation Management.

Hailing from Nairobi, she has worked on wastewater treatment in Kenya, as well as sanitation infrastructure in Indian slums with Shelter Associates. Prior to that, she received her BEng at the University of Nottingham UK in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Shah has also worked in sustainable manufacturing at PepsiCo UK, and in green urban design in the Bay Area.
